Tokyo futures edge lower as commodities fall

TOKYO, July 14 (Reuters) - TOCOM rubber futures were slightly lower in early trading on Friday, although the benchmark contract is on track for a slight gain for the week.

FUNDAMENTALS
* The Tokyo Commodity Exchange rubber contract for December delivery dipped 2 yen, or 0.1 percent, to 199.6 yen per kg by 0027 GMT.
* Rubber is on track to rise about 1.3 percent for the week afer easing last week.

MARKET NEWS
* U.S. oil and the global benchmark, Brent, were down about 0.1 percent early Friday, while copper and nickel were trading slightly lower.
* The U.S. dollar was quoted around 113.40 yen, up slightly and Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock average was up 0.15 percent.
